From the rich diversity on campus to the array of extracurricular activities available to students, I felt both challenged and at home on campus. The sports programs are great, especially considering our football team won the 2019 national championships. Not only do they provide for their students academically but socially. I appreciated being able to connect the passions I have in different academic areas all together! You will meet people from all over the world and all sorts of backgrounds here at UM, which you won't get at every private university in the country. It's a very nice school and so are the people. They have a well-lit path that students can use after dark if they have late classes and those of us who commute can use the school's Tarc buses to get around campus. I love the environment and pedestrian campus. I love the friendly environment on campus and exciting downtown area. (P.S. Our campus is always buzzing with people and activities year-round, and there are clubs for literally any interest group you can think of. One piece of advice I would give specifically about transferring into Engineering is to try to take engineering classes even as an undecided major. Academics are top notch and the food is delicious. There are plenty jobs available on/off campus, but experience could come in many fashions. It can be easy to feel lost in such a large student body and campus, so it was important to find clubs and smaller communities early on, of which there is a niche for everyone. It is an eventful campus with many opportunities for success and expansion of ones self. Everybody is very kind and inclusive. It's not a huge college which is kind of nice, because I prefer smaller colleges.
